I think it was back in October or early November when I was in the middle of getting the kids ready for school I noticed how beautiful the sunrise was. I managed to run for my camera and hop out to the back deck and get some gorgeous photos during all the early morning rush.

Layers of lavender purple and pink clouds glow in the dawn light as the sun rises over the Columbia River in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. A white Masonic Lodge nestles next to a church among the shadowy trees of the Rainier, Oregon forest as the Columbia river flows past the city lights of Kelso and Longview, Washington twinkling against the dark backdrop of the mountains ranges beyond.

One of several things I have been working on this week is making a series of products with my photo, Forest Sun Rays in the Snow #53:
Looking up a steep snow covered hill in Rainier, Oregon the crystal clear early morning sky is seen through a break in the trees.

This week I used my painting Oakridge Reservoir #4 to create some items on zazzle. The original is watercolor on Fabriano Uno 300 lb Rough 100% cotton paper, 7 1/2″ x 11″, 2001. A gnarly tree stump surrounded by weathered gray branches juxtaposed against a view of algae and rocks under the vibrant blue water of Oakridge Reservoir. Forested green Oregon mountains frame the hazy blue mountain ranges in the distance. These would be a great inexpensive way to get a souvenir of a great vacation or just enjoy some fine art.

One of the things I got done last week was to create a series of product using my photo, Forest Sun Rays in the Snow #32. A snow covered branch creates an arch, with ferns hanging from its moss covered bark, across a tree lined path toward the summit of this hill in the woods of Rainier Oregon. Beyond the forest the sky shines crystal blue in the early morning light.

Last week I created a series of products using my photo, Sunrise Over the Columbia River #5. As the sun rises over the Columbia river, a masonic lodge and church steeple rise above the forest of the surrounding hills in Rainier, Oregon. Silvery gray and luminescent white in the early morning light, the clouds blanket the pacific northwest sky.

One of the projects I have been working on over the past week is to create a series of products on Zazzle using a picture I took a few months ago from one of our windows. Looking from Rainier, Oregon across the Columbia river towards Washington is a spectacular view of bright sunlight shining on a layer of dark, moody clouds above a layer of golden morning sky. Beyond the silhouettes of evergreens and small town buildings, the Columbia river shimmers with an amber glow of reflected sunrise as the far bank is obscured in a dark morning mist…
These stamps are customizable and you can add your own text.
Just add your own personal message for a new year’s card or another special occasion…

Last week I created a series of new product on zazzle using another photo from one of my hikes in the snow last winter. In this photo the pale blue winter sky is visible through the forest canopy, as the sun’s rays stream through the evergreens. Glistening drops of melting snow fall through the air toward the ferny forest floor covered in a light dusting of snow.
The other side of this invitation is blank, awaiting your custom text. This would be great for any retreat or workshop held out in the woods.

Using one of the photos I took last winter and digitally altered, this week I created a series of products on zazzle. This digitally altered photo of a snowy sunlit forest glade covered in brambles at the bottom of a steep hill in picturesque Rainier, Oregon shows the winter sky glowing through the forest canopy in a golden haze of sunlit mist, causing the trees to fade off into the distance. I like the colors in this version of the photo better than the original– it has more of an ethereal fairytale-like atmosphere to it.

This week I created a series of products on Zazzle using my photo, Snowy Sunlit Forest Glade, in which a cold winters day hike through the snow towards Fox Creek in Rainier, Oregon reveals a pale blue winter sky seen through a stand of trees near the edge of a forest glade on the bottom of a sloping hill. Still attached to twigs and brambles autumn leaves appear golden in the sun like trail markers bordering a snowy path zig zagging across the hills an into the distance.

Last week I used another one of the photos I took last winter to create some more products on zazzle: Shining brightly in the pale crystal blue morning sky the sun creates an array of light orbs hanging in the air like a chandelier above the snow-covered forest near Fox Creek, Rainier, Oregon. Beyond the wintry snow-covered ferns and fallen branches, Fox Creek meanders unseen through the trees on its way towards the Columbia River.
