While I was out hiding the Easter eggs I noticed some trillium flowers were blooming out in our forest earlier than usual. So the next time the light was good I grabbed my camera and hiked back out there. There are definitely benefits to living on a half acre of forest 🙂 I only got a couple of shots before the sun went behind the clouds, but that’s typical Oregon spring weather for you 😉

Glistening wet from a recent spring shower, this exotic looking purple trillium blooms beautifully in the Oregon rain forest. A ray of bright sunlight warms the ferns and leaf strewn forest floor in the background.

Three trillium flowers grow in an arc from biggest to smallest, pink, white, pink. Surrounded by ferns and other greenery on the leaf strewn forest floor and covered in raindrops from a recent spring shower, these blossoms are typical of the wonders to be found on a hike in the beautiful pacific northwest.

One of many projects I have been working on this week is to use my photo, bird in a winter tree, to create a series of products on Zazzle.com
A bird ( perhaps a robin?) perches on a snow covered apple tree limb surveying the frozen apples hanging like ornaments on a Christmas tree in the December snowstorm.

One of several things I have been working on this week is making a series of products with my photo, Forest Sun Rays in the Snow #53:
Looking up a steep snow covered hill in Rainier, Oregon the crystal clear early morning sky is seen through a break in the trees.

One of the things I have been doing this week creating a series of products on Zazzle.com using my photo Forest Sun Rays in the Snow #50:
The morning sun shining through the forest creates spectacular lighting effects. Lens flare and light orbs floating in the air with sun rays shining visibly through the trees produce an ethereal glow in the Rainier, Oregon woods.

Last week I designed a series of items on zazzle using my photo, Forest Sun Rays in the Snow #54:

This week I used my painting Oakridge Reservoir #4 to create some items on zazzle. The original is watercolor on Fabriano Uno 300 lb Rough 100% cotton paper, 7 1/2″ x 11″, 2001. A gnarly tree stump surrounded by weathered gray branches juxtaposed against a view of algae and rocks under the vibrant blue water of Oakridge Reservoir. Forested green Oregon mountains frame the hazy blue mountain ranges in the distance. These would be a great inexpensive way to get a souvenir of a great vacation or just enjoy some fine art.

This week I made a T-shirt design on Redbubble of my water-soluble oil painting, Midsummer Daydream.
Water soluble oils on gessoed paper. 14 3/4″ x 11 1/4″ 2007.
The wood sprite creates ripples in his refection as he daydreams. Fairies dance on the lily pads and skate across the water while his leaf boat floats away to dreamland.
