It was on a morning back in may when I was up early that I took these beautiful pictures from my window. I love having a view of the Columbia River from my house. Hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed taking them.

About a month ago while I was getting some photos ready to post for sale, I decided my bleeding heart arch across the forest picture would be even better with a more abstract background; so, I tried playing around in paint.net with using multiple semi transparent layers with different layer blend modes as well as taking it back in to picassa afterward to retouch a few areas that were still not soft enough.

Here is the last installment of apple blossom pictures I took this spring. For some reason these first two seem to have a bit of an oriental flair, but maybe that’s just me. It’s just something about the foremost of the apple blossoms–perhaps the shape in combination with the glowing light.

This is by far my favorite out of my apple blossom photos. I love the brilliant light that fills it, the delicate pink of the blossoms, and the overall peacefulness and tranquility of it as a whole.

Here are some more pictures I took back in April of the apple blossoms on our trees. I love the effects I was able to create using some of the tools in picassa. The abstract shapes of the light in the forest in behind this sprig of flowers helped make these truly spectacular. I hope you all enjoy these too:

All through April I was keeping an eye on the budding apple trees in the back yard, waiting for them to blossom. Then the day came when they were in bloom and the sun was out in all its spring glory. Here are the pictures, after having some fun tweaking them on the computer:

The sepia tones in this picture of bright spring sun shining though the branches of a cherry tree as a bit of lens flare steaks across the elegantly translucent white cherry blossoms causes the sky to have a bit of a beautiful sunlit fog appearance.Back in April when I was headed in the back yard to do some chores done, I noticed how beautifully the sunlight was shining the cherry blossoms and ran in for my camera. I ended up grabbing a branch and pulling it down closer to the camera for at least one of these shots.

While I was on the way to the post office the other day I came across some pretty little pink wildflowers growing in the grass at the edge of someone’s lawn. They were shining so beautifully in the sunlight I just had to stop and get some close up shots. Then on the way home I spotted some purple flowers growing next to a large evergreen tree trunk. Based on a wildflower identification chart I found, the pink ones are most likely Redstem Filaree–also known asStorksbill, Cranesbill, Clocks, or Alfilaria. I am still not sure what the purple ones are–the flowers look similar to a wild radish, but the leaves seem different than that to me.

Here is the third installment of red crab apple blossom photos I took at my friend R. T.’s house. …
Recently my friend R. T. invited my family over to dinner and Family Home Evening at her house. The sun was shining particularly bright that day, and at just the right angle to draw my attention to the beautiful red flowers on the tree right outside her dining room window. I’m not sure how I managed to miss it before since I have been there many times during the past 5 years that I’ve known her. Since she graciously gave me permission to come back another time to photograph them, I came back a few days later while out on a walk in the spring sunshine with my camera.
Based on the small amount of research I did on the internet I think it is an ornamental crab apple tree hybrid, perhaps a Malus ‘Radiant’ crab apple , which is a bit surprising because of the size of the tree. It’s about as tall as the house and pretty thick around. I got these shots from several windows which are a good 10 ft above the ground at least. Thankfully there is a zoom lens on my camera so I wasn’t tempted to try climbing a ladder to get these. 😉 And a BIG thank you to Mrs. R. T. for the privilege of photographing the view from her windows 😀
