This week I used my painting Oakridge Reservoir #4 to create some items on zazzle. The original is watercolor on Fabriano Uno 300 lb Rough 100% cotton paper, 7 1/2″ x 11″, 2001. A gnarly tree stump surrounded by weathered gray branches juxtaposed against a view of algae and rocks under the vibrant blue water of Oakridge Reservoir. Forested green Oregon mountains frame the hazy blue mountain ranges in the distance. These would be a great inexpensive way to get a souvenir of a great vacation or just enjoy some fine art.

Michael at the Waterpump, water-soluble oils on gessoed paper, 11 1/16″ x 15 1/16″, 2001. Intellectual property of Dawna Morton. All rights reserved. Do not copy in any form. At a scenic campsite in the forested hills surrounding Oakridge, Oregon, a child and his mother discover the joy of an old-fashioned red water pump after feasting on huckleberries. Poised in mid-stroke of the pump the mother’s figure is bathed half in sunlight and half in dappled shadow with a sense of continuing motion. As the crystal clear mountain water cascades from the spout Michael washed the huckleberry stains from his tiny fingers in joy and wonderment. Surrounding this nostalgic scene is an array of pacific northwest foliage and trees rendered in impressionistic strokes.
I recently created many product on zazzle.com featuring this nostalgic painting. Here is one of several fridge magnets which would make a great inexpensive mother’s day gift or just an everyday expression of appreciation.
Also available is this clear frosted glass mug, perfect for anything frosty cold or piping hot. See your drink peeking through photos, images, or text designs. Dishwasher and microwave safe. Imported. This design is also available on other mug styles, colors, and sizes. Feel free to customize the text with your own unique message for your mom or other loved one.
