Last month I was out hiking in the back yard and was lucky enough to catch the salmon berries in bloom. When I was out there looking at them last year I had thought they were some sort of wild old-fashioned rose, since they are so pretty; however, this time around I was looking at their foliage closer and realized it looked more raspberry-like. that’s when it dawned on me that these were probably salmon berries which we have growing in and around the yard. after sleuthing around a bit on the internet, I was able to confirm I was right about their identification. Now if I can just manage to get back there to beat the birds and the squirrels to their delicate delectable juicy goodness…
