The other day my sun flowers finally bloomed. They at least 3 feet taller than I am, and until recently there was not so much as a bud on them. I was beginning to wonder if they were going to bloom at all.  Went out and snapped these pictures as soon as I saw that they had blossomed.

Sunflower in the blue sky by Dawna Morton

Blossoming yellow sunflower basks in the sun as it towers alone in the deep blue sky. When viewed at full resolution, minute details such as the hairs on the sunflower’s stalk and the occasional strand of spider’s web are visible in sharp detail. The large green leaves are translucent in the sunlight. the yellow petals surrounding the bloom like the suns rays twist and turn in sun and shadow.
